As an avid sportsaholic who’s been utilizing Vancouver spaces for sports since I was a young kid, can’t wait to shoot some hoops!

But knowledge of what went wrong is a competitive advantage, not a “weird pitch”. Kareem isn’t running away from 2022. He’s running because of it.

I don’t normally applaud the ownership group here, but well done @fr_aquilini for listening to fans and getting the @Canucks back to its roots when we were most successful and into the community. I’m hopeful!

Ken Sim is a knee-jerk “tech cheerleader” who refuses to act in the public interest.
While Sim says AI now does “all or a lot” of his work, he never followed through on his commitment to bring a Chief AI Officer into City Hall to ensure artificial intelligence improves public services instead of creating new risks.
This is just like how Sim ignored repeated warnings from the Vancouver Police Department about Bitcoin ATMs being linked to scams and organized crime. Sim allowed roughly 300 of these machines to proliferate across Vancouver until Mark Carney’s government recently announced a crackdown that will shut them down.
It’s time for a change.

But I’d argue the guy who knows the inner workings, because he was a part of those same inner workings, is not the guy to change them.

Like nothing he says here is wrong, but kinda hard to call foul when Sim was your guy Kareem.

Ken Sim must disclose which 11 AI agents he is using. He must disclose whether government data and the personal information of Vancouver residents are being aggregated in data farms in the United States and China. He must disclose if federal and provincial documents shared with the Office of the Mayor have been tasked to these AI agents. This has the potential to be the largest offshore leak of government data in Canadian history. Ken Sim needs to come clean, and @BCInfoPrivacy must also be accountable to the public it serves.

He was a part of Sim’s team. He clearly believed in the vision ABC put forth.
I question his judgement when Sim was who he originally backed.

Vancouverites still deserve to know how, when, and where AI is being used in their government, and to see clear, strong rules for AI in sensitive decisions. That ask has not been answered.
