First game I finished 2026 Split Fiction, great coop 3D Puzzle platformer I would call it that has some really cool ideas I never saw in a videogame before Great gameplay and innovative gimmicks and puzzles just dont expect too much from the story and chatakters

@JBongoGamer @publiusthegreat Isn't art just someone using a medium or his craft to express themself and share his expressions with people? I would say game devs fit that catrgory just as much as movie directors

@JBongoGamer @publiusthegreat Personally I would say games should be considered art the same as movies or books There are some books and movies that have lots of depth and have big influences to people but nobody says they aren't art just because light entertainment like John Wick and Marvel movies exist

@publiusthegreat @JBongoGamer Atm they get ruined by greedy shareholders forcing yearly constant grwth which leads tons of microtransactions, free 2 play and gacha elements, layoffs to cut costs with wages etc at least in the AAA industry

@JBongoGamer If you care about video games then the last thing you want is for them to be "high art," and systematically ruined like poetry, literature, painting, sculpture, architecture, etc. MBAs running AAA has been bad enough.

9th game I finished 2026 Children of the Sun A indie puzzle sniper game where you only have one bullet to kill everyone in the stage but you can redirect the shot after every kill and also slow time and move the bullet mid flight, super fun game

8th game of 2026 I replayed Bayonetta Very fast and fluid combat and holy fuck there are so many gimmicks to mix stuff up for more variety and such a good presentation, loved it

@Zillo_X Naja, ich las oft 3 Stunden was für die Experience okay ist? Das Spiel kostet 20€, 17 mit den Launch Discount also ziemlich nah an die Länge eines Films und den Preis den man für einen neu releasten Film auf Blu-Ray zahlen würde

Ich habs natürlich nicht selbst gespielt. Aber ein 2 stündiger movie mit haufenweise Nostalgie bait klingt auch nicht sehr ansprechend für mich. Und ich mag eigentlich die Games von Annapurna.

Natürlich mögen Spiele Journalisten ein Spiel in den man nicht failen kann und relativ wenig input braucht um es zu spielen. Ich mag visual novels aber von dem was ich gesehen habe, spielt sich das Spiel über weite Teile echt von selbst und man guckt einfach nur zu.

@DUSKdev with a external publisher are still considered indie, does it matter if it probably makes the same game a even better one with the support they get?

@DUSKdev Gonna be honest also Dave seems like a cool guy, anti-gen AI, pro game preservation and everyone who supports smaller devs to make their games more popuar with OR or better if they financially support games like regular publishers is good in my book, even if it is weird if games

Tbh I do think we should collectively continue moving toward a clear distinction between "indie" and "AA," although I have no idea where that line should be drawn. I just know that it's not quite right to have such a huge variety of dev circumstances grouped together as one

@DUSKdev I just stopped caring there are better and worse games with bigger or smaller budget and getting good games is a good thing is it really important if it fits the definition of indie or not?

@DUSKdev Actually I am not even 100% sure Dusk is a Indie game same as hotline Miami, Indie originally meant self funded from a small hobby team I think but Devolver and New Blood are publishers(They are cool but unsure how it falls into the original indie Umbrella
