@PoliticsPuffin1@StopBeingCruel1@GBNEWS They’ll ruin their own lives one way or another. Unless you want to lock them away from society? Drugs aren’t the problem.
@Saunder3Finbarr@StopBeingCruel1@GBNEWS "most" - how many addicts are acceptable?
Ppl who will ruin their own lives and their loved ones, end up unemployed and unable to function in society with eventually has consequences for everyone else aswell.
What ratio is ok with you?
@StopBeingCruel1@Saunder3Finbarr@GBNEWS The affluent middle class drug and alcohol abusers are the ones I frown upon the most, as their selfish behaviour usually ends up with the consequences being felt in poorer sections of society.
@PoliticsPuffin1@StopBeingCruel1@GBNEWS Everything is fine in moderation. You want to cancel everything. A very dangerous mindset indeed. Shades of the Third Reich. Life will kill us all. Try and enjoy it for once.
@Saunder3Finbarr@StopBeingCruel1@GBNEWS Yes, and alcohol use and gambling etc should be discouraged in society, where as you want to promote drug use.
That's the difference.
@StopBeingCruel1@Saunder3Finbarr@GBNEWS I don't know who you've met in your life, but I don't know of any happy alcoholics or drug users.
In fact, they are often the most troubled, depressed and even suicidal ppl you'll ever meet.
@PoliticsPuffin1@StopBeingCruel1@GBNEWS You seem to assume all drug users and alcohol drinkers are ruined bums. Most people can take both recreationally with no issues. Similar to gambling where it ruins some lives. People are the problem.
@StopBeingCruel1@Saunder3Finbarr@GBNEWS What you don't get is that drinking alcohol or taking drugs will not help.
Go and ask any former drug user, any of their loved ones and any medical professional.
@Saunder3Finbarr@StopBeingCruel1@GBNEWS Probably more in places.
If it continues then no doubt you will see an increase in homemade alcohol. Although its not particularly easy to make by yourself and for it to taste nice.
@Saunder3Finbarr@StopBeingCruel1@GBNEWS We should be working towards promoting a healthier lifestyle, not promoting these drugs for widespread use.
Our society is a mess already, why add even more problems?
@Saunder3Finbarr@StopBeingCruel1@GBNEWS Why would they when alcohol is so readily available and cheap.
If a pint of beer cost £10, I imagine you would see alot more ppl creating their own.
@PoliticsPuffin1@StopBeingCruel1@GBNEWS By your logic there should be illegal beer dealers on every street corner. It’s regulated and sold in shops. Uncanny.
@Saunder3Finbarr@StopBeingCruel1@GBNEWS I wouldn't recommend that either.
The mass sale of alcohol and loosened licensing laws have only made things worse when it comes to alcohol.
Taxing and 'regulating' has done nothing to help.
@Saunder3Finbarr@StopBeingCruel1@GBNEWS Dreaming.
Why would the poor pay £10 for taxed and 'regulated' when they can get powerful 'skunk' from their local dealer for less.
@PoliticsPuffin1@StopBeingCruel1@GBNEWS No alcohol is much worse. You can grow different strains of cannabis and monitor their affects. Then sell various strains at different prices which will actually help people take it in moderation with some insight. It needs to happen.
@Saunder3Finbarr@StopBeingCruel1@GBNEWS I agree with you.
As I said, we have laws, but the police and courts refuse to enforce them for some reason.
'Regulated' - like alcohol then.
That helps doesn't it....
@PoliticsPuffin1@StopBeingCruel1@GBNEWS That would happen anyway mate unfortunately. It’s not the fault of cannabis. Maybe if it was legal and regulated people wouldn’t smoke it on the streets.
@Saunder3Finbarr@StopBeingCruel1@GBNEWS Not many open minds on the local council estate of mine full of ppl openly smoking it.
Plenty of unemployment, crime and dysfunctional families though.
@PoliticsPuffin1@StopBeingCruel1@GBNEWS You don’t even get a caution for smoking it at home. I didn’t want to tell you that because I knew it would upset you. It’s practically legal already. I want it fully legalised so it can be regulated.
@Saunder3Finbarr@StopBeingCruel1@GBNEWS In 2008 Cannabis was reclassified from a Class C drug to a Class B drug, so perhaps the state is realising slowly of the dangers of this drug.
It would be nice now if the Police and courts actually enforced the law.
