This is a topic of most urgency to me, and I think you've nailed something that, if you don't mind, makes me want to push a little further. The reading and teachings of the Bible given to us by colonizers is exactly what you've said. FULL STOP. But Black people literally have no spiritual or intellectual reason to read the Bible like a colonizer. Because if you flip the lens and read the Bible as a witness and record of the exact evils you listed, well then it reads like an instruction manual to overthrow empire. to me at least

It truly angers me and saddens me. My black neighbors and their kids don't act this way and abhor this behavior. It hurts my heart to see all blacks judged by the acts of these "teens," and I worry about what it means for the future of race relations. I feel like it is retarding decades of progress.
