Outrageous. I was at this ceremony. Nothing the students did merited any conduct violations. There was no organized protest, no attempt to shut down the speaker, nothing beyond the momentary disruptions of a few shouts and one brief, halfhearted chant. ncf.edu/news/commencem…

Actually, the @usnews methodology document states that the Peer Assessment data were collected in the spring and summer of 2023, which means that the last 6 months absolutely could impact this metric, weighted at 20% — next highest category, graduation rate, is 16%

US News made major adjustments to the rankings, and the data lags as much as 2 years on several measures. The 2023 rankings have nothing to do with what has happened in the last 6 months. Meanwhile, NCF enrollment is FINALLY growing. Thanks!

Note that this investigation is specifically about disability discrimination. So when a certain trustee spouts off about abolishing the DOE, he should clarify that he’s mad about the College being held accountable for discrimination based on disability. Who does that??

TLDR: New College didn’t just find mold and say “ok let’s send students to hotels” , they recruited more students (thru athletics) than their facilities could handle, gave athletes the best dorms, sent upperclassmen to the Pei dorms despite mold reports finding them uninhabitable
