Dunston Staiths, on the river Tyne, is an iconic structure. It's the last of its kind on the river & grade 2 listed. Working in partnership with @TyneDerwentWay

@IsabelOakeshott With a heart of stone, or may no heart at all..

In this article, I call for mass deportations to tackle illegal migration. I know it’s harsh, but the crisis is so huge, nothing less will do telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/08/2…

@CrawfordTrotman @thecarolemalone If he was clever he could have got things right .but everything he and his ministers have done are not good for the people .
English

Have police arrested this bloke yet? I’m guessing not!

Hi @YvetteCooperMP @BrumPolice Is this deemed acceptable on the streets of Birmingham?
English

@HellyWelly57 @nib95_ 'Apparently' being the key word here..
English

@nib95_ Apparently he was radicalised in a mosque and when arrested he said he did it for Allah !!
English

#WRECKED 😭🤣
They rioted and attacked a local mosque in retaliation for...a man born in Wales with Christian parents, having heinously and tragically murdered children
These same folk ironically criticised recent riots by the Roma community, again wrongly blaming it on Muslims

North East broadcasting legend, Alan Robson, did one of his ghost/history walks around Dunston Staiths last month. Catch his fascinating insights on the link below. Also, a reminder that the Staiths will be open on Saturday 3rd August, 10am-2pm.

@Feargal_Sharkey this has happened right over the mud flats at Dunston Staiths, which is a feeding ground for many species of birds. Keep up the pressure! 👍

@NorthumbrianH2O Nice to see what appears to be another sewage discharge near Dunston Staiths again. One of several in the past week. 👏😐.

English

@NorthumbrianH2O @EnvAgency oil last time, now sewage, and not for the first time this week either. Disgusting discharges around the Staiths.
English

@EdBeresford3 @Les1004 There's no need to sack him though
English

I totally agree with him being sacked as MP and we should this far and wide. express.co.uk/news/politics/…

@RoryStewartUK The Conservative Party needs to retake the centre right and become a party that is honest, trustworthy and serves the country. Too much to ask?

The change brought by this election is far more dramatic than realised. Only 3/30 members of Boris Johnson’s 2022 cabinet remain in Commons 2 years later - 90 per cent of his leadership are gone. This is a radically different commons. Let’s hope the new MPs improve things…. before they are co-opted by the leadership and whips
Sam Freedman@Samfr
Here's a remarkable stat: There are more people in the Commons who were in Gordon Brown's last cabinet (2010) than were in Boris Johnson's cabinet when he resigned (2022). Five vs three.

This made me laugh out loud when I read it.
Starmer has never even been a minister. He has no idea what is about to hit him if he wins.
His life and his diary will no longer be his own. There is no day off or early finish - ever.

@ItsJamesPowers @DavidGauke Don't think he has a problem with democracy, more likely that it's unwise to draw attention to something which has been so damaging for the country 😎

I don’t know where to start with this . But it’s surely illegal and must be investigated and prosecuted . What sort of monster rams a calf ? Twice ?

As has been widely reported, Labour’s manifesto gives a strong endorsement to an independent state for Palestine. Its most contentious phrase is that a “neighbouring state does not have a right of veto over a Palestinian state” (or words to that effect). This is a powerful message to the Israeli government that a British Labour government would campaign for the two-state solution whatever the position in Jerusalem. It will provoke debate domestically and internationally
