So much of this panel on teaching tech by not teaching tech is about teaching students to be flexible and adaptive… which I find Gen Z law students struggle with. They want to be perfect right out the gate. #aall24

Man is breaking into car (this fact is not disputed). Students approach to ask him to not break into car. The thief says he has a gun and reaches quickly towards his waistband, and in trying to keep him from pulling gun, students stab him. 1/

A key detail in the killing of an unhoused man by a USC student who “feared for his life” is that the student approached the unhoused man. Rittenhouse-esque vigilantism introducing lethal violence to a situation that would’ve otherwise not resulted in death.
