@_rallyal_jk16 Yeah, but you really have to look at the big moments. Not the bad penalty or turnover in November. This was a defining moment for this team. No bigger stakes. And Kane blew the moment. Not making the playoffs won't be on him, but not winning this game should be.

And I promise you.. THIS game is not the one that “cost us the playoffs”. I can name 50 other instances this season that are no better than today’s game

@Ben2b23 @Say_JB_247 I'm 50/50 with you Ben. I agree they're only playing 20 minutes a game with energy and urgency. But once that game was tied that penalty by Kaner was beyond acceptable for a veteran and imo looked intentional. Todd has lost the locker room!

Yall can blame Kane all you want. But this team was dead for 2 periods of a must win game AGAIN.. It was an absolutely stupid penalty by Kane. But so it’s this teams effort night in and night out for multiple periods. Can’t play only 20 mins a game and expect to win

@bushwood_c I've said this a few times: I'm starting to think that Larkin is too nice a guy to be an effective Captain. Players who know him will all tell you "what a great guy" he is. I don't think we need a friend in the locker room, I think we a Captain who is respected but feared.

I'm done talking about the Red Wings right now. I feel pretty gutted by the way the team's fallen on its face over the second half... But I think that a lot of the reactions are pretty stupid, so I'd better keep my mouth shut for now. Have a good afternoon.

@313Hockey Agreed.Mostly-Dump, try and win the puck battle in the corner, maybe get one shot off, turn the puck over, play defense for 1:30, then repeat. Also-Every team we play against is well aware of the Kane to DeBrincat cross ice slot pass for the one-timer. It's not a "thing" anymore

The worst part about this is how utterly BORING the Red Wings have been this season. Save for DeBrincat and Seider, the rest of the roster has been uninspiring at best and downright atrocious at worst

I can’t think of a sports team that folds faster and with less shame than the Detroit Red Wings of the last half decade. Don’t get me wrong there’s been PLENTY of less talented, bottom of the barrel Lions teams & other Detroit teams. But I’d argue next to none that have less dignity and fight than these Red Wings. 100% of the time they’ll fold when hit with even an ounce of adversity.

There is a legit culture problem with this team. I don't put it fully on Larkin as Captian because he's regularly puts this team before his own health, and it' rubed off on the young guys like Seider, Ray, Finnie, Kasper. Cat is a Dawg. The Vets they bring in seem to kill it.

@oldirtydangles Problem is: Our Wings scouts attain players based on whether or not they can be successful in GR and assume it will ultimately translate to the NHL. This approach is flawed. They don't make moves to get top end picks and bargain hunt for GR development projects.

@19_DarkWing_19 @BradKrysko Agree with Dark Wing. Our D, and lack thereof for years, creates too much pressure on forwards to back-check and defend against clean zones entries. Leaves our forwards in "no mans land" with little time or space to create good rushes and set-up good scoring opportunities.

@BradKrysko Im convinced its the man to man coverage they play in the dzone. They become disjointed against aggressive teams. As soon as a team drags a defender to the top of the circles, that line is cooked haha. Time and time again, hemmed in the zone, chasing the puck, failing to clear.

This team is fundamentally broken in so many ways, talent is the main issue but far from the only issue. Look at how Soderblom and Tarasenko are performing as soon as they get out of this organization. Hell even Berggren ain’t doing much but it’s a lot more than he did here
