There’s a software platform called Pro Zorro which was built in Ukra*ne for precisely this purpose and achieved much success.

KZN disaster fund management projects: Tender bids must be uploaded on a transparent platform (some minor confidential info can be redacted). Journos and the public can see if the winners look deserving. Same platform should track job progress and costs.

There is nothing like a natural disaster to bring into sharp relief the fact that good governance is actually a matter of life and death. Lack of service delivery kills. Lack of disaster preparedness and disaster management kills. Stealing money meant for public services kills.

@SbuMsi22 @loyisomacdonald If Will Smith thinks hitting people makes him gain respect then he's a serious loser. His own wife has been tarnishing his character for sometime now. No amount of punching skinny comedians will cover that. He's lucky it's Chris he did that too

@SbuMsi22 I know it's not the point you're making. Nothing happens in a vacuum, again, I agree. My issue with all of this is now the conversation has suddenly become how violence is justified as a response to words. It's a slippery slope.

@SbuMsi22 I agree with you in that the joke wasn't tasteful but you don't solve the situation by sucker slapping the person who told the bad joke. Or are we to now believe that if someone says something you don't like, physical violence is the answer?

I just think there’s enough space for us to critique both Will’s unhinged & violent reaction and Chris Rock’s abusive and ableist joke. Focusing on one form of violence while ignoring another will allow for only half a lesson to be taken from this debacle.

@SbuMsi22 And that's my problem, an emotionally stable person wouldn't react like that. What he says in his acceptance speech concerns me even more because he admits the character he played got under his skin. We have all said and done things in anger but damn...
