It has been a warm Memorial Day across central Iowa, with a preliminary high of 85 at Des Moines. While this feels hot and is above normal for the date, believe it or not, the highest temperature recorded at Des Moines this year is still the 91 reached back on March 21st!

Assault: 2500 Post St. Caller says a male assaulted a pregnant female.

Traffic Unit responding. No life-threatening injuries. Tow requested for three vehicles:

SW 2nd St & MLK, Jr Pkwy: Officers and DMFD are responding to a crash with injury. Reports of up to three persons injured, and potential impairment involved. Please stay alert for first responders and expect temporary traffic delays in this area.

Cat attack: 1000 33rd. Caller says his cat is going crazy. The cat has attacked him, he is bleeding. PD and FD is enroute

CPR was in progress, victim did go to the hospital. Shell casings found. And officers have someone detained.

Shooting: Near 14th & Grand. Delayed post, Shooting happened around 11:00 PM. One male, gunshot wound to the head. Agonal breathing.

2nd & Walnut. Caller says a naked male is walking around.

Shots fired: 7100 SE 5th. Caller heard 2 shots.

Shots fired: 16th & Carpenter. Caller heard 10 shots.

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for parts of Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and South Dakota until 1 AM CDT
