@drewlevin @HappyChimeNoise I would consider making a poll that asks if people chose their secondary role because it's the second role they'd like to play, or if they pick whatever has the lowest chance of actually happening so they get their main role. Could be interesting to know!

@mrmegawalls @APXMK @RiotPhroxzon I agree, Riot seems to be working hard on griefing detection so we'll see how it ends up working. I do still think the bar needs to be higher, somewhere between B and A minimum and a required honor level/amount of days with no honor drop would probably be best imo.

2026 Ranked Changes! The ranked changes this year were heavily inspired by feedback from you all about pain points and things where we could improve. 1. Queue times, especially in apex 2. Experience around autofill and autofill balance 3. Dodging and time to game Queue Times In the graph attached, we've been cooking on some optimizations to get queue times down without affecting match quality. As Meddler mentioned, these changes have now been rolled out in all regions for Ranked. In Season Start, we're also in testing on some more optimizations, that we hope can get times down even further. Some of the reasons why queue times are long today is because our current matchmaking algorithm spends a lot of time trying to make games have autofill & secondary role parity, but those optimizations are extremely costly to queue times. We believe we've found some optimizations that are in testing that can bring those times down, without compromising game quality (more to report back in January!) Autofill You've told us that y'all really don't like it when autofills are imbalanced by teams and that can make the game feel doomed in champ select. At the same time, some players detest playing autofill at all. Unfortunately, we can't cash that check to remove autofill today 😢 as players would be in queue forever. So the path we took was to make those autofill games more rewarding and incentivize you to play them out. Our changes in the new season will also make autofill balance in-role more effective (eg. fill jgl vs fill jgl) While Aegis of Valor is launching with a C or higher and no disruptive behavior transgressions (like AFK), we are open to increasing the requirements if we observe players messing around with this. Dodging Finally, on the dodging front, chain dodging has become a pretty big problem, especially in high MMR, where lobbies are repeatedly dodging the same person. At Master and higher, dodging will cost the same MMR and LP as a loss In these lobbies, repeated dodging and target bans have the biggest impact on game quality, so we want to incentivize players to play out those games. We understand that there are some games where it might feel like you're at a comp diff, but we hope that better balance around autofills in 2026 will make those games meaningfully more fair. We don't consider someone having had their lane counterpicked as a reasonable reason to dodge, as the game starts in champ select. In the same way you can't dodge after someone gets first blooded, we want to normalize champ select experience as part of the game. Having said that, we know that people being disruptive with lobby hostaging and other disruptive behaviors are still major pain points for you all. @yetanotherscrub @RiotPhroxzon Because at the end of the day, people grief their teammates, and with aegis they don't even lose anything themselves. That is the issue, not their own loss, but the damage they can inflict onto their teammates. Ya feel me?

@yetanotherscrub @RiotPhroxzon Fully agreed and I get why that's good for people who still think when they're mad, but often when someone has a bad start to a game and is already prone to tilting all math goes out the window (I mean people grief even without aegis). Kinda difficult to balance this correctly.

@RiotPhroxzon The C tier minimum requirement is extremely low, that's basically guaranteed no matter how hard you int. Meaning that an autofill can ruin the game on purpose nevertheless and be rewarded with no LP loss, while the rest of the team have to tank the whole L

@drewlevin @TheOldestGreg @YuukilyKwaii Right but MMR does not equal rank, so yes you are matched with people that you'd have 50% chance of winning/against, but you aren't at that rank. Why is your skill level not reflected in your rank as soon as it is determined? Why do you have to play X mote games to reach it?

@xQc People are not even considering the amount of hours of entertainment you get for every dollar spent. A game of this scale will likely take at the very, VERY least 50 hours to be played through once, and is 2 bucks an hour for a fantastic product not completely reasonable?

Good morning and happy Monday everyone! We hope you're enjoying Patch TFT13.3! From a balance perspective it's one of the best patches in TFT history which is awesome. That being said, game isn't perfect and there's still lots we can do to make it even better. This week my posts will be talking about changes coming in TFT13.4 and today we're going to start with Sorcerer and Visionary. For the last few sets, we haven't been happy with very tall (7+) vertical classes. We end up having to shove an unhealthy amount of power into them to get them to function as a comp (see how 8 sorc is 150 AP!) and just aren't very interesting to build. Your level 8 comp is just the 7 champs plus usually the one champ that connects the best. So we're going to take the classes and reduce them to a max of 6. We still like the max being interesting, so they will keep the additional benefit (though slightly reduced since it's easier to activate). We believe this will make team building around them much more interesting since now your level 8 comp will have a few slots to work with, and can build more functional team comps around the unique bonuses. I look forward to the new different lines that will be playable around 6 Sorc and Visionary next patch! We still think vertical Origins (Rebel, Enforcer, etc) are healthy for players as those are often designed to be functional comps that are easier to ramp into. But if this goes well, this could be a shift for TFT classes in the long run. That's it for today. Stay tuned for a new post each day with some improvements for next patch.
