"Failing to undertake the necessary pre-workout veterinary examination reporting process for horses in his care." He took full responsibility for this ridiculous protocol violation and got fined an absurd amount of money compared to some others who got popped administering not very nice things.

I say this w/all due respect to the GOAT Bob Baffert, but if he's sliding into Churchill's DMs, this man right here is open for business. Dan channeled his inner Baffert & swept the prestigious Derby & Oaks on Cal Cup day. Oh, he's also pretty good w/older horses too! cc: El Potente.

This is the equivalent of the ex-boyfriend showing up to the ex-girlfriend's wedding with two super-models as his plus one...and then being the first ones on the dance floor. Sure, he's there to win races, but if this isn't an EFF U to Churchill, I don't know what is! Gotta hand it to him!

Exactly. The tournament space is a dead-end. Don't get me wrong: I play in tournaments and appreciate the fact that players have options--any options, even bad ones--but it is what it is. The market is less than 1 percent of the horseplaying population. The NHC, which is the holy grail, had only 1,000 entries trying to get in at the Last Chance. Add that to the 800 or so who already qualified, and that's the market. And 95 percent of them aren't paying an entry fee to gamble on a Friday when they can just gamble. SA implemented a 15 percent $3 Late P3, and the handle on Sunday was a record $400K. There are a gazillion horseplayers out there. Do something nice for them instead of beating up poor Delta Downs! That's the only path forward.

@ScatoniSureShot Other than the BCBC itself, please show me any live money tournament anywhere that gets 500 entries.

Striking to see average field size in March for thoroughbreds is down from 7.6 horses per race to under 7.2. Seven racetracks are 6.6 per race or less, three of those are under 6. Turfway, Fair Grounds, Oaklawn, Tampa are the only tracks with 8 horses per race.

@atTheTrack7 You're right. You do a great job looking foolish without my help. Good luck at the next shareholders meeting. BTW: number of players does not equal number of entries. I just don't like lies and hyperbole. When one of your contests has more than 500 entries, you can punk me.

@ScatoniSureShot Come on, man. You know that has nothing to do with TwinSpires or what I do. (Or maybe you don’t). Stop trolling because posting that as an attempt to connect it to my work makes you look foolish.

@ScatoniSureShot I think based on the overwhelming majority of the results we have seen, we have things under control. 👍

My first thought was: what a bleeping waste of the judicial system. My second thought was, God Bless America! My third thought was, if Afroman is wrong, then I don't want to be right! Seriously though, dude will have case studies written about him. Whoever was advising the plaintiffs should be disbarred. Lesser men than @ogafroman might have given up. No! Dude is an American hero.

This Afroman story has to be one of the funniest news stories I can remember. Just incredible and hilarious in so many ways.

@atTheTrack7 So close the entries before the first race. If you can't get 10 early sign-ups for an online contest, what is the point? Happy that contest players have more options, so respect, but if you can't fill 10-entry minimum feeders, something is very wrong. Appreciate the dialogue.

@ScatoniSureShot Same thing happened there. Hit huge early, chased everyone away. It happens sometimes. Most of the time it doesn’t.

@atTheTrack7 Lol. How about Steve-O's win? Good for him. 7 entries. I have to give you credit though, you've done a masterful job of turning chicken shit into chicken salad. Claps!

@ScatoniSureShot That’s because the winner hit huge on the first two races and was 8x bankroll after race 2, so nobody else came in. Rules clearly state any tournament that doesn’t get enough entries for a seat turns into a cash game.

@BeReal2025 Dude. It was a joke. I thought that was pretty obvious, but I guess not. The Baffert/CDI bromance or frenemy saga doesn't affect my life at all. I hope he wins every race or loses every race. My life won't be materially changed. Maybe they both deserve each other...or not.

@ScatoniSureShot Interesting take. Pretty sure if they gave him 34 stalls they wanted him there. A lot.

An hendectet of races @fairgroundsnola begins Louisiana Derby / Muniz Memorial presented by @HR_Nation / closing weekend. Price opportunities in races 8-9 make Englishman a more palatable single in the penultimate. Looking forward to joining @JoeyDaKRacing on air races 9-10

Oh, wow. I didn't know that about Red Baron. That would really sting if they closed shop. Well, I'd rather go down with the ship than the alternative! The Stronach Group vexes me b/c they have done some awful things to make me think they want out, but at the same time, they are the only ones who are actually doing anything to try and grow the game. It's so schizophrenic! LOL.

@ScatoniSureShot Tommy Town left a year and a half ago. Red Baron/Temescal has put their ranch on the market. The Stronach Group has a stellar record of closing racetracks. Lucky for us, we were there for the glory days. 50,000 people in the stands every Saturday and Sunday; more on the big days.

Striking to see this at a track that has 8 horses per race. If you can't get the 10-entry minimum for a TP contest, what are we even doing here? At least do the right thing and cancel/refund the lousy entry fee. Imagine paying an entry fee to either win a small cash prize or go broke. Might as well play the Octof*kta! #NobodyLikesAHumblebrag

Yes. It's nice to have options, and good for him. He earned it and deserves it. He will always be the GOAT. But, IMO, his temporary departure doesn't really move the needle for me. Now...if a guy like Terry Lovingier, who has propped up SoCal racing on his back (along w/a few others like Harris Farms, Nick Alexander, and J. Paul Reddam, etc.) pulls up sticks and heads to KY, that would terrify me. I actually think this isn't a bad thing. We have so many good trainers out here. I'm not saying they can do what Baffert does...but who knows? Maybe they can do it better! Dan Blacker rolled into Cal Cup Day, won the Oaks, won the Derby, and said peace owt.
