lately I’ve been thinking about how everything not just markets or tech but the human culture in general moves in cycles. we go from basics, to fundamentals, to evolution, to innovation, to hype. then we hit this wall where complexity stops being impressive that’s the moment this universal loop restarts. suddenly simplicity becomes revolutionary again I think crypto have just hit that point for a while, retention and acquisition were driven by innovation by new systems, cool automations, complex funnels and fancy expensive engagement ideas. but now, none of that really lands. i mean it still does but at what cost and rate? people aren’t looking for more complexity they’re looking for clarity. they don’t want to be impressed they want to understand that’s why I think education has quietly become the most underrated growth lever not education in the "here’s what blockchain means" way, I mean education as in comprehension helping people truly understand what the product is, what it stands for, what it does. because I’ve noticed most projects successfully achieve KYC, but almost none unlock the KYP milestone for their audience the founders know what they’re building, but the community doesn’t. so everyone celebrates short-term hype, everyone feels good for a minute, but nobody really understands what they’re here for that’s where retention dies. everything I’m building at @Growgami right now from funnels to onboarding systems to creative programs. it's all anchored in one principle: simplicity tldr cut the friction teach the why, not just the what build environments where people actually understand the product they’re championing because in this new phase, simplicity isn’t the opposite of innovation, it is innovation.

most comments on this post feel like people rushing to farm engagement without adding much value what you said actually hits tho, decision making isn’t about finding "the one right move" but stacking as many +ev lines as possible and executing them consistently. same thing in startups too, two teams can take very different approaches and both win if they’re +ev in their own context

@mert Playing poker and other strategy games as a kid helped me out a ton as an adult. Understanding that there are multiple +EV ways to go through a decision tree makes you realize that there are more than one "correct" answer. Some are just more correct, but +EV is +EV

web3 community building isn’t about selling a vibe anymore. the hype era is dead. the old crypto playbook? • engagement farming • artificial hype • fake loyalty all worthless in 2025 discord wasn’t a community. it was a speculator daycare. mods weren’t leaders - they were customer support for bagholders coping through their exit scams 2025 is different. adapt or get wiped out. real communities are built like products: structured, intentional, scalable. retention isn’t about grinding levels, it’s about delivering actual value. token incentives don’t create loyalty - alignment does. the new era isn’t about community marketing. it’s about community architecture. if your community is just an airdrop farm and exit liquidity trap, don’t bother. you’re already dead. you just don’t know it yet.
