@fordnation Can you please look at studies that demonstrate that bike lanes are better for traffic, people, and businesses. This isn’t complicated, why are you making it so?

@LeonKelem @nickiozzo @glynbowerman Incorrect. Cyclists pay income and property taxes that pay for infrastructure (roads and bike lanes). So they do pay taxes to be on roadways. Paying for gasoline is not a toll for using roads. Do you get a discount for gas taxes when you purchase it for use in a boat? Lawnmower?

@Schnarrb @nickiozzo @glynbowerman Vehicles pay to use the road because they pay tax on gasoline. It doesn't matter how the tax collectors choose to use the taxes. The fact remains that people using vehicles pay taxes to be on the roadways, and cyclists don't.

@LeonKelem @nickiozzo @glynbowerman So what is your point about taxes for gasoline vs cyclists? Cyclists pay for infrastructure via taxes, as you admit. You choose to only travel by a means that requires purchasing something for which there are additional taxes, that’s your choice.

@PrabSarkaria Yup, the reason your commute from Brampton takes so long is because there is a bike lane on Bloor. Perfect logic.

Our province is stuck in traffic and bike lanes aren’t helping. In the coming days our government will unveil our plan to work with our municipal partners to ensure bike lanes are introduced in a way that reflects the needs of the entire community. thestar.com/opinion/contri…

I’m a big fan of budgeting #FIRE and finding ways to reduce spending in my personal life where possible. I also love a good garage sale and deals. One of the biggest cost savings I have in my life is simply riding my bike to commute. Biking can save people a lot of money.

@_MarkSutcliffe Mr. Mayor, can you comment about those in the core that feel rural residents are making decisions on how we should live our lives that neglect our unique needs which are being overlooked?

I want to make sure that rural residents feel included in the decisions we make as a city. You should not feel like people in downtown Ottawa are deciding how you should operate your farms or live your lives or that your unique needs are being overlooked.

@RoadSafetyBC I don’t know, maybe drivers shouldn’t drive into pedestrians, especially ones crossing properly at a crosswalk, even if they are looking at their phones.

I have a game for you. Imagine you meet someone who claims to be a financial expert. If you could only ask them one question to determine if they are legit, what question would you ask? I call this the Financial Turing Test.
