@rickspinradnoaa & @NOAAFish_GARFO toured #WHOI engineer @amylkukulya's @SciboticsLab yesterday to see the lab's innovations on the @MBARI_News #LRAUV. They're developing a new vehicle for @NOAAFisheries to conduct seafloor habitat surveys at sea scallop and offshore wind sites.

When you try hard things, they might not always go according to plan. But we learn, we build stretchers out of drift wood and we study the data. Then we innovate and try again. #oceanography #robots

Stella the #auv is launched for testing bottom mapping accuracy for future benthic surveys in wind farm areas, hard to reach places and anywhere you need to go. We define long range as 2-4 weeks- that’s autonomy!

Up early for the LRAUV Polaris recovery. This vehicle is a product of @MBARI_News craft and passion for science. We are so thrilled to collaborate and build on this groundbreaking tech. While most #AUVs spend more time out of the water, this 24/7 workhorse goes for 2 weeks.

Welcome Owen Cesarano- Scibotics Lab’s newest engineer. Owen’s first week on the job was participating in an Arctic expedition running an AUV to test underice oil spill response and mapping! @WHOI

We are in the #Arctic working with an amazing team to test #polarisunderice for rapid response using a full science payload, & a best in class AUV known as LRAUV. We are simulating an oil spill under ice and sending data in real time back to shore. @WHOI @MBARI_News @dhsscitech
