🔬Making labs more sustainable starts with identifying carbon footprint sources that have the highest impact on our environment. Which, in your lab, do you think is the biggest source of CO2 emissions?

Almost missed the collaboration post from @AlexandraBisia and @_brentmfoster. So excited to read individual interviews about researchers working on non-model organisms! It is always interesting to know what happens when you choose a non-conventional approach🧐

Do you ever use capital letters to convey your feelings? I do. Today, after 9 years of living in Japan, I suddenly came to the realisation that I couldn't do capital letters in Japanese. Used a ton of emoji instead 😆 #japanese #lostintranslation #LanguageLearning

Disconnecting is so scary sometimes. What if people need you right away, or you will not answer a message within 5 minutes? But the longer you work, the more you understand - the only way to actually, truly do something - is to concentrate on one thing.

Ever feel like your brain has too many tabs open? Maybe close a few tabs and single task for a while. Multi-tasking: we're not very good at it. So when you're writing turn off alerts and focus on one thing - writing. #acwri

@AlexandraBisia @ISSCR @the_Node So envious you saw the snow! I still haven't this year. And the meeting report is a great read! Enjoyed it a lot. Love the part about octopuses, I was reading about them not so long ago, fascinating creatures :)

It's around 10 C. The season when the tip of your nose gets colder than any other part of your body, and a cup of hot chocolate is an ultimate drink. #RandomThoughts #thoughtoftheday

Dina starts out discussing regen. medicine + tissue engineering, AND offers insight into modern scientific practice: constant push for results, reduced time to really digest data, lack of exposure to different disciplines, often superficial sci. comm. A great read!

I came to tissue engineering and regenerative medicine following my curiosity. But then I discovered that not everyone sees this field of research the same way I do. So in my new article, I am trying to find the reasons for the different opinions. thenode.biologists.com/the-science-of…

Maybe the path of a scientific career isn’t linear. Maybe it’s more like Waddington’s epigenetic landscape with its myriad potential and shifting geography. We need to hear the stories of scientists who have walked those paths less traveled.

@_brentmfoster Loved it! I think it is brave to talk about your grief and feelings of being in between, not giving up, but not quite decided. I feel you there. Thank you for naming those difficult feelings and sharing them. It brings hope and strength.

Considering applying for an ERC grant this year? You probably already know there have been some changes to the ERC's research assessment procedures and forms. If you want to know what they are, why they were implemented AND get some initial tips 👇 erc.europa.eu/erc-magazine
