Scotland's international development work is helping to transform lives in our partner countries. First Minister @JohnSwinney reflected on his recent visit to Malawi and Zambia, where he saw the impact of health, equalities and climate justice projects supported by @ScotGov.

Following his visit to Zambia and Malawi, First Minister @JohnSwinney has pledged @ScotGov support to the “Cancel Debt, Choose Hope" campaign, a global movement calling for a fairer approach to resolving global debt crises. Find out more: gov.scot/publications/s…

We’re marking 20 years of @ScotGov International Development partnerships in Malawi. In his first visit to the country, First Minister @JohnSwinney engaged with projects driving progress in areas including climate justice, civil society and health.

We are helping to tackle global health challenges. In Zambia, First Minister @JohnSwinney announced £125,000 match-funding to improve access to safe surgery for children. This will help develop new oxygen technology, supporting Dundee-based charity @KidsOperating.

FM @JohnSwinney's visit to Zambia - the first undertaken by a First Minister - highlights Scotland’s ongoing commitment to our international development partnerships. We thank our partners who have engaged with and supported the First Minister during this milestone visit.

First Minister @JohnSwinney has visited the @LUSAKABB laboratory in Zambia. The state-of-the-art facility - supported by £1m @scotgov funding - provides a platform for Zambia, Malawi and Scotland to research non-communicable diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and heart disease.

First Minister @JohnSwinney is in Zambia – one of Scotland’s international development partner countries. He met with the President of Zambia @HHichilema, they discussed shared priorities including trade and investment, inclusive education, and renewable energy.

The programme builds on the success of the NHS Scotland Global Citizenship programme, which supports NHS staff to engage in health work around the world. Thanks to all partners in Scotland, Malawi, Rwanda and Zambia

The new health partnership programme will help Malawi, Rwanda, Zambia and Scotland strengthen their health systems by creating networks through which healthcare professionals can share skills, experience and knowledge. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🤝🇲🇼🇷🇼🇿🇲
