It was fantastic to join together as a network last night for our annual Festive Reception, celebrating all the important work for Scotland's environment that has happened this year. Nature Champion of the Year went to @colinsmythmsp, for his tireless work for badgers, supported by @scottishbadgers. And a special commendation was given to @Audrey4ASNK, Nature Champion for the freshwater pearl mussel with @Buzz_dont_tweet. We wish everyone a very happy and restful festive season!

And the winner is… @colinsmythmsp! Colin is the Nature Champion for the Badger with @scottishbadgers and the MSP Nature Champion of the Year 2024! Colin has been a constant campaigner for the species and a prominent voice in support of the recent ban on snaring.

Before the MSP of the Year is announced, there is a Special Commendation: @Audrey4ASNK has been recognised for her work championing the Freshwater Pearl Mussel with @Buzz_dont_tweet. Audrey has joined multiple visits to see her species and often mentions her role in @ScotParl.
