People complain about AI slop killing X monetization, but the bigger issue is curation theft. Small accounts find clips, edit them, and post the content. Larger accounts just hit “Post Video” on the clip (no downloading, no editing) and scoop up most of the views and revenue. Here @JasonJournoDC posts a fresh Bill Maher clip at 7:10 AM. Ten minutes later, a bigger account posts the video and pulls in 5x the engagement and monetization. The real work is done by the small accounts. The payout then goes to the big ones who add nothing. They often don’t even change the caption. X needs a better system to reward original curation instead of rewarding repost farming.
