In a free market, workers and employers voluntarily agree on wages, which reflects the real market value of labor. There are many employers, all competing with each other—trying to pay less, yes, but also trying to produce more and offer better products. That’s how the free market works. By contrast, in socialist systems, there’s no true free market at all. Wages are set by central planners using “pay scales,” and production is dictated from above. History shows this just drains motivation from society, eventually causing the whole system to collapse—look no further than the Soviet Union. These are simple facts that can’t be denied, just like reality itself.
