@scottastevenson The end state of this is that when most people can’t determine which information is real, they will blindly align themselves with who or what they believe in most. Society is on a fast track towards extreme and divisive tribalism.

The danger of AI content was never in convincing people that non-real things happened. The danger is that any real footage can be claimed to be AI generated by people who don’t want to believe it.

@scottastevenson It’s becoming much easier to do as more and more filings highlight how the markets are controlled and manipulated. Things that are unpopular or contraindicative to traditional investing signals seem to be the places where money can be made outside of normal investments.

I think the challenge is: as long as betting on news and fundamentals you will probably lose, because there is no way to get ahead of the herd on those signals I find that betting on sentiment and breakouts is possible, but you need to be able to hold an opinion that is correct that most people disagree with, and then hold through as people start to agree. That is socially a very difficult thing to do.

Investing is a competitive game. Index investing is like playing rock, paper, scissors and playing rock every single turn. Eventually the sharks predict what you’re going to do and take advantage of it massively. It’s already happening.

@SHiFTstatus @GearboxOfficial SHIFT issues are preventing me from signing in to my own local game. This is even a step worse than not being able to play with friends over crossplay. I cannot even play Wonderlands by myself.

@JohnRiche I’ve seen some posts on negative amortizations for people who have variable rate mortgages. Can the feds do anything to correct that situation? Or is the only solution to lower interest rates I wonder?

The next 3-6 months are going to see a lot of housing announcements from the Feds. They took Millennials and GenZ for granted. The Liberals are an experienced political machine and will likely correct the polling collapse, if it's not too late.
