People have a right to whatever religious beliefs they want — even if those beliefs dehumanize other people — but they don’t have a right to hijack their employer to promote those hateful beliefs at a job-related event.
MLB didn’t penalize them for their faith. It penalized them for violating the rules of their employment.

Disappointed that a number of white, American pitchers for the @SFGiants chose to wear caps with Genesis 9:16 scrawled next to a rainbowed logo on Pride Night last week, and one opted to not wear the pride cap at all.
@GrantBrisbee nails the problem in his Athletic post: "Pride Night is about bringing more people into the group and telling them they belong in the same stadium, rooting for the same team."

Individuals who make Pride Night about themselves are exactly why these events are held. The existence of LGBTQ+ people should not be a matter of opinion or morality. They are human beings and deserve to be treated with respect.

Reliever Sam Hentges refused to wear the Pride hat (just like Blake Treinen) 3. Reliever JT Brubaker wrote Genesis 9:13-15 on his Pride hat 4. Reliever Ryan Walker wrote a message on the side of his Pride hat was unreadable on the broadcast *I couldn't tell on the broadcast if outspoken Christian Robbie Ray protested as well Well done, gentlemen.
