I know things change but as a former educator ive seen a drastic decrease in prep coverage. I worry this is in line with that trend. Its not good for kids or communities. Thank goodness for KJ and the Jeffs

Many people don't view covering sports as "real" work. I've worked in a factory and have done manual labor, so I'm not saying it compares. I will say that it is challenging and can lead to burn out. A rule of thumb is if you DON'T hear anything then it's a good thing. 1/2

I was in royals stadium as a 16 year old when George Brett broke 400 for the first time. I can see him like it was yesterday standing at 2nd base vs the Blue Jays and the scoreboard simply read 400 maybe 401. I still have that scorebook that i kept score on.

Tim Dwight's going to get inducted in the NFHS Hall of Fame later this year. I'm not old enough to have seen him in person. But looking through some old archives, this guy was an alien, right? Like he was a high school cheat code? Cooper Dejean is the best high school athlete I've covered, and Dwight not only looks bigger and stronger, but he was erasing 4A opponents like it was nothing.
