@2Quirk Really useful recap, do we know the reason why morphine should not be administered via the IV route to patients in sickle cell disease crisis?
English

🚑🚨🩸#RapidRecap: Sickle Cell Disease. It's most common in people of African or Caribbean origin; take two minutes to refresh underpinning knowledge and recap the red flags 🩸🚨🚑 #paramedic #studentparamedic #nurse #studentnurse #ambulance #FOAMed

@drkeithsiau @drokane I recognise this and I’m sure this is from an A Level Psychology textbook!
English

@drokane I think it came from a GCSE revision textbook. Had this saved for a while now!

Ross @LibraryUoL know how to keep student morale up when deep in studies… cereal bar this morning followed by fruit at lunchtime then a packet of fruit pastels after finding a card hidden in the library. Little things but certainly go a long way and it’s appreciated #thankyou

@TheLeeMcLaren @UoL_Paramedics …and will form part of a reflective journal which is an assessed component of this module
I do think that OSCEs have a place to demonstrate competence but from past feedback centred around a lack of realism, we too need more immersive simulation days to allow theory to practice
English

@TheLeeMcLaren @UoL_Paramedics There are a few simulation days for each cohort throughout the year
This simulation day was planned and ran by us third year students as part of our Leadership and Practice Education Module with positive student feedback
The idea being to for us allow to practice being a PEd
English

Really enjoyed creating and facilitating this immersive scenario to aid the second year @UoL_Paramedics student paramedics with their continuing development and to prepare them for their OSCEs and beyond into their careers 🪩🎶🚨🚑

Noisy, dark nightclub toilets, loud music, flashing lights, a bouncer who wants this GCS8 lady out of his toilets, a drunken annoying friend, who just wants her friend to get up and go for a pizza! Who’s spotted the insulin card in her pocket…Glucagon or Glucose? #realisticOSCEs
