Happy #OldRockDay. In 1787 geologist James Hutton spotted rocks near Jedburgh, Scotland tilted vertically and covered by horizontal layers of red sandstone - making Earth older than previously thought. His findings were as important as Darwin's evolution theory 64 years later.

The Lord Lyon along with a number of well known Scots attended a reception  hosted by the Lord Provost of Edinburgh to launch the Edinburgh Tartan Parade 2026 which will be held on the 9th May 2026.
