I am proud to once again launch the Chief Scientific Officer for Scotland Awards. These awards recognise the exceptional expertise of our workforce, whose contribution is vital to patient care, population health and the sustainability of NHS Scotland. Proud to celebrate #HCS.

This week Professor Catherine Ross the Chief Scientific Officer for Scotland discussed the importance of strategic policy alignment of the Redefining the Healthcare Science Workforce document and the Scottish Government’s Service Renewal Framework and Population Health Framework.

The publication of the second paper in the Healthcare Science in Scotland series sets out a clear professional identity for the scientific workforce across NHS Scotland, clearly defined professional groups and refined levels of practice. is.gd/kq1CAq
