Video of Toby Harris going through his pre-draft workout drills. Such an unbelievably good shooter. A legit skill set at 6’8”, 225 pounds. He’s going to play in the NBA.

I’ve watched all of Brayden Burries’ Summer League games so far. Throw out the Devin Booker comparisons. To me, he’s the guard version of Jayson Tatum. I’ll let the highlight reel speak for itself.

Can’t stress enough how important paint touches are for guards. Darius Acuff is elite at breaking down his POA defender and getting into the lane. That’s a skill that always translates. Sacramento is going to be a lot more fun to watch this year.

One thing that will clearly translate for Labaron Philon is his downhill ability. So crafty getting into the paint and collapsing defenses. That’s what will get him on the floor early despite needing to add strength. Had 17 points on 7-11 shooting today.

Who knows if Tanner Jones cracks the rotation after redshirting last year for UCF, but I like the tools. At 6’4, he has real strength, athleticism, and a promising-looking jumper. A name to watch, especially if he’s in the portal next cycle.

Trevon Brazile just dropped 32 points for the Nuggets after never scoring that many in five college seasons. Clear NBA player. At 6’10, he can handle it, shoot it, and defend. He’s going to massively outplay where he was drafted.

Mister Dean missed almost all of last season at Charleston, but I’m excited to see him at UCF. 6’6 and a freak athlete who had a 99th percentile stock rate as a freshman, finished 77% at the rim, and really guards. I think the jumper takes a step too.

Cayden Vasko is an intriguing jumbo handler at 6’6. Posted a 17.7% USG, shot 33% from three, averaged 4.5 APG and 4.7 RPG, and had a 3.65 AST/TO ratio. Versatile offensive piece who could be a nice secondary playmaker off the bench for UCF.

I’m a fan of Carmelo Pacheco as a role guy for UCF. Shot 40% from three with a ridiculous 92.4 3PAr, posted a 2.5 ORAPM, barely turned it over, and attempted just 9 twos compared to 109 threes. Defense is a question, but he can give you a solid 15 MPG.

Fully healthy Mikel Brown with the keys for Brooklyn this year will be fun. Hopeful the back doesn’t flare up again. Flashes of the U19s from last summer. Going to be even better as his body matures and he gets stronger.

Jason Asemota made an interesting decision to stay at the HM level after stops at Baylor and Boston College. At 6’8, he can clearly shoot and has defensive tools. I think he could’ve starred in the A-10 or MVC, but can he turn it around at UCF?

Churchill Abass wasn’t great at Wake in 2024-25, but he bounced back at New Orleans and returns to the high-major level with UCF. Solid bench big at a HM who finished 78% at the rim, averaged 10.3 rebounds per 40, and posted an elite 9.4% block rate.

John Bol was clearly a capable big for UCF last year. Massive size at 7’2. 78% at the rim. 85th percentile in BLK rate. Plus hands. 61% from the line needs to improve. Reliable starting five in the Big 12.

There’s a chance Isaiah Malone starts at the four for UCF. Long 6’8 athlete who posted a 96th percentile stock rate, shot 44% from three (25 attempts), and 71% at the rim. The defense will translate. Just needs to prove it on higher volume from deep.

We all know Meleek Thomas can flat-out score and he’s shown that through two Summer League games. I think what keeps him in the NBA long term will be his playmaking and ability to battle defensively. Not a plus defender yet, but I think he’ll get there.

Most CBB fans know how good Lewis Walker was at NC A&T. Averaged 21.8 PTS per 40 while shooting 37% from three, 48% from midrange, and 72% at the rim. Not sold on the defense (-1.4 DRAPM), but he should start at the three for UCF.

Have to think Jahda Swann plays a role for UCF this year. Dynamic with the ball, plus creator, can really pass, and scores from all three levels. As he gets stronger, I think he’ll become a plus defender too. Sneaky good pickup.

I’m interested to see what Dior Johnson looks like back at UCF. I think he has a chance to average 15+ PPG. Lit it up at Tarleton with a 38% USG, shot 56% at the rim and 47% from midrange. Offensive talent is big, the defense is still the big question.

I don’t agree with this take. Yes, Nate Ament doesn’t look comfortable in SL right now and Cenac and Baba do, but Ament was a better CBB player than both of those guys this year. There’s a ton of upside and it’s worth the pick with the offensive package he showed in CBB.
Owen Jury@ojury_007

I tried to cope with it for the longest time, but I still can’t wrap my head around the Ament pick. If the Bucks wanted to take a project, there were better options on the board. Chris Cenac, Baba Miller — both better now and have greater ceilings if all goes right.

@pickdegen I did watch him play. You guys don’t have any big depth. You’re going to need minutes from him unless you’re able to scoop up some international guys, which I don’t think is probable this late in the cycle. He can be a 10 minute a game guy off the bench and be serviceable.

Marial Akuentok didn’t play much for Texas Tech last year, but the upside is obvious. At 6’10, he’s a big, explosive athlete who moves really well and has real defensive switchability. Only attempted 12 shots last season, so there’s plenty left to see.
