A new engine for Alcachofa games has just been merged. So far, it supports "Mort & Phil: A Movie Adventure". The engine is under 11k lines of code, but it is quite advanced and utilizes OpenGL for rendering. And the engine author, Hermann Noll, aka Helco, is joining our team.
