The FDIC exists for this reason with traditional banks, this is effectively a “bank run” but with less liquidity and driven by panic headlines… investors exceeding redemption rates is not a causation of any sort of structural danger in these funds lol

Growing increasingly more entertaining seeing how many people LARP as knowing what private credit funds are structured like on the internet. “They” are “limiting redemptions” to the quarterly redemption limit that was disclosed when investment was made… 😂 I might buy $OWL …

lol they have a 5% redemption limit cap of the total funds for a hypothetical example. If 20% of the total fund wants to be redeemed, they prorate redemptions of individual investors to match the 5% as advertised. In example if 20% of the fund wants out only 1/4th of each individuals request will be redeemed to keep the total redemption amount at 5%. So while the redemption amount is the advertised 5%, 15% of the fund got denied a payout in this example. Essentially denying their request or trapping the funds until next redemption period.

Everyone screaming “insider trading” in regards to yesterday’s alleged front running of news might not know that SEC insider trading laws do not cover CFTC products like CL & ES. Totally legal…..
