@dog913101 @CardPurchaser At that cost just do 7x5x1 boxes.

@PSAcard 3 year membership canceled because of the 50 card minimum and extended turnaround dates. Hope it was worth it
English

@PSAcard @E_S_Collectible I want a refund on my memeber ship I just got. This is ridiculous
English

@E_S_Collectible The minimum card requirement for Value Bulk submissions will increase to 50 cards on May 18, 2026.

@SeaTownCollects @RippinCityCard @AllRise1127 @CardPurchaser He doesn't understand what is being said. He now is talking about "not being in finance", we'll, my degree is business and econ, I am pretty sure this simple concent we are discussing is only going over one of our heads and it isn't mine nor SeaTown.

Is it me or has eBay quietly increased their seller fees? For the longest time it was 13.5% Selling a $70 card is a net profit of $59? Yikes that’s nearly now 15.7 percent. Feels like this is an all-time high in fees without any indication of the increase as well. @CardPurchaser

@RyanStadler79 @RippinCityCard @AllRise1127 @CardPurchaser Hahaha wtf? I guess he just doesn’t like math? It’s just an opinion, not a hill anyone is gonna die on.
English

@SeaTownCollects @RippinCityCard @AllRise1127 @CardPurchaser That guy is a goofball. What in the actual hell was said to block here? Anyway, I get your thought process.

English

@RippinCityCard @RyanStadler79 @AllRise1127 @CardPurchaser Brother. They still charge the tax, they aren’t eating that. It’s paid by the buyer. The argument I’m making is that sellers shouldn’t have to pay a fee on that tax amount.
$100 card with 10% tax and $5 shipping.
Buyer pays $115
Ebay isn’t eating that 10%
English

@RyanStadler79 @SeaTownCollects @AllRise1127 @CardPurchaser Collecting 14 percent on an uncertain number of what tax and shipping is would be a losing business model for them. Which is why they don’t do it. They owe a precise amount of sales tax and shipping costs. Precisely why they collect 13.5% off the final value
English

@RyanStadler79 @RippinCityCard @AllRise1127 @CardPurchaser It’s just about predictability and not feeling like they’re trying to skim a little more off the top due to a variable that we don’t have any control over. If I set a price for $95 card with $5 shipping. I want to know my net is $87 at 13%.
English

@RippinCityCard @SeaTownCollects @AllRise1127 @CardPurchaser in fees off the $50, to collect that .65, so FVF would be 13.013 in this example off the $50 (item/shipping) total. Basically they would just run the math differently to hit their average target rate.
English

@RippinCityCard @RyanStadler79 @AllRise1127 @CardPurchaser This is exactly my point. Payouts are now unpredictable because you are paying a fixed fee on a variable tax. Whereas, if I was just charged a higher fee (14% instead of 13%) on just the sale+shipping not including tax (paid by buyer) it’s now predictable.
English

@SeaTownCollects @RyanStadler79 @AllRise1127 @CardPurchaser The shipping and tax changes based on state and destination so they can’t build in a flat fee for that
English

@RippinCityCard @RyanStadler79 @AllRise1127 @CardPurchaser Yes you can.
Sell a card for $100 + $5 shipping. Tax is passed to the buyer, say 10%.
Total to buyer is $115
$105 x .86= $90.30, -$5 for shipping. Seller collects $85.30
English

@RyanStadler79 @SeaTownCollects @AllRise1127 @CardPurchaser You can’t do that though because sales tax and shipping costs are variable. That is why it’s 13.5 percent on the final value.
English

@RyanStadler79 @RippinCityCard @AllRise1127 @CardPurchaser It’s also more predictable. You don’t actually know what you’re getting paid (yes I know it’s small differences) until you find out where you’re shipping to. It just feels like junk fees when you buy tickets on stubhub because its variable. I understand it, I still don’t like it
English

@RippinCityCard @SeaTownCollects @AllRise1127 @CardPurchaser He is saying (as an example), charge 14% for the item/shipping total, instead of 13% on item/shipping/tax. Basically it would get to the same fee total, just calculated different.
English

@RyanStadler79 @RippinCityCard @AllRise1127 @CardPurchaser Also not stressing about it. I still sell on eBay. Doesn’t mean I have to like it tho.
English

@SeaTownCollects @RippinCityCard @AllRise1127 @CardPurchaser I mean what is the difference? It isn't/wasn't free for them to create the software, add in tax programming etc. If they raise the FVF to like you said, 14%, on just the item price and shipping, if it ends up at basically the same total, not sure it is worth the stress to worry
English

@RyanStadler79 @RippinCityCard @AllRise1127 @CardPurchaser I understand it, I just don’t like it. I’m not arguing the shipping fee stuff cause sellers would abuse that loophole. This just seems petty when they’re already charging 13.5% for a platform that hasn’t really changed in 15 years. But it’s their game so is what it is
English

@RippinCityCard @RyanStadler79 @AllRise1127 @CardPurchaser Yeah still feels wrong. I get the explanation, but I don’t like it. That should be part of the feel they charge on the item. I’d rather they just hit me with an even 14% or something
English

@SeaTownCollects @RyanStadler79 @AllRise1127 @CardPurchaser They charge the fee on sales tax because they are filing the sales tax on the sellers behalf so they don’t need to
English

@RyanStadler79 @AllRise1127 @CardPurchaser The rub for me is that the state is collecting the tax, not the seller. So to apply the fee on the tax feels wrong. You pay more in fees to sell something to someone in California than you would selling something to someone in Oregon.
English

@AllRise1127 @CardPurchaser Not sure what else to tell you. I layed out exactly how eBay works and absolutely nothing has changed.
English

@AllRise1127 @CardPurchaser They’re applying fees to the shipping and tax. It’s ridiculous
