@Kyledcfc18 Yeah so that’s fresh in your mind, the lad from Southampton Scienza, that was a great finish. There is plenty of defensive frailties at the back & to pick out just Ward isn’t fair. We concede a lot of soft goals away from home & need to strengthen again in that area.

@Seabo20 Down to his defensive capabilities he’s toss at it, maybe he’d do better on the wing with his crossing but even the assists have dried up so it’s shown even more on his limitations in defence. Stood off his man in the last two away games & we’ve conceded from it

@ScottGretton When he came into the team he was all those things & struggled, he should have adapted quicker like Murkin did. Not writing him off, but he doesn’t walk into the team ahead of Ward.

@Seabo20 That’s what I mean in many ways, Ward has been a league one player all of his career, Johnston has been playing in Europe and was on the cusp of breaking into the Scottish team pre-injury.

@Seabo20 It’s more Ward’s defending - last 2 games he’s stood off his attacker and let him get his shot away and score, got to get tighter. Frustrating as we’d just been gifted a way back in to the game.

@ScottGretton Murkin was able to show that within a few games though, Johnston before his injury showed little. I think what you’re saying about Ward is harsh, especially after majority of his time as a Derby player has been blighted with injury & he’s been a league one player much his career.
