Turns out that the residential school denialist “movement” is just a handful of retirees that created an email group to coordinate the creation of denialist content that is being boosted by far-right media, think tanks, and politicians to attack truth and reconciliation:

Also, the head denialist - Nina Green - is actually just a pseudonym for some coward to publish anti-Indigenous content anonymously.

A Permanent People’s Tribunal will be held soon in Montreal with intentions to seek justice for Canada’s role in the residential school system. The tribunal is not legally binding, but those involved hope the tribunal will remind people of the issue. youtu.be/UMejV-o5vfg

@SeanCarleton Sean Carleton is a residential school propagandist. The rot goes deep in his soul. If you believe in the truth, he will hate you. He is poison.

@AnneGavin3 Aaron is literally a right-wing influencer turned politician so he can get paid by tax payers to be a right-wing influencer. Enough with the grift, indeed.

I have to say, it’s objectively surreal: one year after the media, Liberals, NDP, and left-wing advocacy groups tried to destroy my political candidacy over a four-year-old tweet saying Canada isn’t a genocide state, BC Conservative leadership candidates are now tripping over themselves to say the exact same thing - and no one bats an eye. It goes to show just how quickly things can change in culture and politics. History tells us there is never a wrong time to tell the truth. The truth always prevails and it is up to all of us in public life to have the political courage to speak that truth at the exact moments when it is most difficult to do so.
