By popular demand, reposting my attempts to read all the new school names:

"UBCIC will continue to stand with Survivors and our Nations in confronting denialism and ensuring that the truth of residential schools is upheld. This work is fundamental to reconciliation and must be supported, not suppressed." Chief Marilyn Slett ubcic.bc.ca/court_affirms_…

I have to say, it’s objectively surreal: one year after the media, Liberals, NDP, and left-wing advocacy groups tried to destroy my political candidacy over a four-year-old tweet saying Canada isn’t a genocide state, BC Conservative leadership candidates are now tripping over themselves to say the exact same thing - and no one bats an eye. It goes to show just how quickly things can change in culture and politics. History tells us there is never a wrong time to tell the truth. The truth always prevails and it is up to all of us in public life to have the political courage to speak that truth at the exact moments when it is most difficult to do so.

If true, this is shocking and utterly unacceptable. “British Columbian” is an exclusionary term? Not on my watch. (If true) it also serves as a sharp example to those who doubt that ideology has crept steadily into our government departments. No tin foil hats needed, here… Just an example of a bureaucracy and its political leaders who have lost sight of their obligation/mandate to serve BC’s citizens; vs. trying to shape them according to the ideology of a small minority. Once premier, I will root out every example of this.
