Today, I convened the Incident Response Group to discuss the ongoing hostilities in Iran and the Middle East, and continued vigilance to ensure the safety and security of all Canadians. Our meeting focused on efforts to protect Canadians in the region and work with partners to de-escalate the conflict.  Canada is continuing to facilitate travel for Canadians looking to depart the Middle East and the Gulf Region. We will take all possible measures to protect Canadians abroad, including those serving in diplomatic missions.

Thank you to the incredible Global Affairs Canada staff working around the clock to support Canadians in the Middle East and Gulf region. From helping people find flights to assisting those travelling to safer locations, their dedication and professionalism are making a difference for Canadians in the region. We are working to support you and to bring you home.
