Josh Frydenberg has accused Anthony Albanese of having ‘allowed Australia to be radicalised on his watch’, calling for a ban on hate preachers and a royal commission into the Bondi massacre, as the NSW Premier moves to block protests that would ‘rip our community apart’. More at: bit.ly/3L0GjIZ

Prior to the sordid scenes on the steps of the Sydney Opera House on 9 October 2023, tragic events like what has unfolded this evening at Bondi Beach were unimaginable.
What’s so horrific about tonight’s attack is that such an occurrence has been foreseeable – no more so than by Australians of Jewish faith.
For now, I express my profound thoughts for those who have been injured, for those families who have lost loved ones, and for every Australian and tourist caught up in this abominable attack. I am praying for all involved.
With characteristic bravery and altruism, our police officers, paramedics, lifeguards and innocent bystanders responded. God bless these heroes. And God bless our doctors and nurses this evening.
It’s an utter disgrace that such heinous violence has occurred in our country.

Anthony Albanese has once again failed the basic test of leadership.
Instead of standing up for taxpayers, he has closed ranks around a minister accused of wasting public money. When integrity is tested, this government reaches for the curtain every time, choosing secrecy over accountability.
Australians deserve a Prime Minister who protects them, not one who shields waste and excuses conduct that would see any other Australian held to account.
The Prime Minister must refer this matter to the head of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet for a full investigation into whether his own ministerial code has been breached. And Anika Wells should stand aside while that investigation takes place.
Taxpayers deserve nothing less.
