Churchill Downs deserves a near-perfect score for the show they put on this weekend. We got fair, consistent turf and dirt surfaces and most importantly, they were SAFE. Say what you want about the vet scratches, but I’ll go out on a limb: for the most part, the vets got it right. No system is perfect. They continue to invest in and upgrade the facility every year, and it shows. Mike Ziegler treats horsemen and clients the right way 💯. Credit to Ben Huffman and Dan Bork for putting together tremendous race cards. We saw some brilliant performances. Saw clips of the @NBCSports coverage, it was very engaging. At the event, even the music between races was dialed in (love 300 Violin Orchestra playing over the announcing of the horses for Oaks/Derby). Top to bottom, a terrific 2 days and a great stage to showcase our sport. A win for racing! 📸 @ChurchillDowns
