I don’t blame Butcher for being pissed off, he’s a monster but Mallory didn’t have a problem using him to go after supes Funny how all this started with Mallory not willing to fight Billy on confronting the seven and ended with him not willing to fight Rayner on keeping the boys

@_Godotto Comic Butcher is weird, cos he's got a Steve Dillon heavy thug design, so you'd expect his British accent to be a kind of Danny Dyer or Vinnie Jones type. But dialogue establishes his canon accent is "like Michael Caine" which feels hilariously dissonant to his design.

To be fair Insomniac Spider-Man became a meme due to the fact he made an advanced suit to fight Doc Ock for the very first time in his career despite being in his early 20s.

@tumultuoscalm I can’t help but think that Butcher is a cut of the same cloth that EnnisFrank, the difference is that Mallory purposefully fanned the flame in Butcher’s fire and now he’s all drive, another monster created by a superior taking a maladapted man, handing him a gun and a target

I’m giving some thought to making an episode about the best comics covers for my show’s 10th anniversary. Maybe asking other comic book shows and pros to select their fav?

Jason Aaron isn't the first person I'd pick for this but then again I've seen happens when you give Deniz Camp full control on an event and it's not very good. So kind of a lose-lose situation here

Scott Snyder confirmed that Jason Aaron will be the main writer for the first DC Absolute Universe event (the other writers are helping with the plot, but Aaron is the main writer) Martian Manhunter is the one who’s going to bring the Absolute heroes together!!

@nise_yoshimi The nickname takes on a more tragic meaning near the end of the comic, when we finally learn more about Butcher's wife. I'm sure the show will try to make some half-hearted reference to this at the last minute, but I won't be there to see how badly it misses the mark.

one thing about the boys is that in the show even the title makes less sense. In comic its butchers macho nickname for his team of weirdos he's assembled for bad reasons who he will ultimately betray. The irony is cloying. In the show I guess they're just "the boys" sometimes?

God help me, they weren't all good books, but I did enjoy early Image continuity.
