My wife Delia and I went to our regular 12:30 Mass in Tuam Cathedral today. Fr. Mark Quinn delivered a homily that struck me deeply because of the message and appeal it contained. This evening I asked Fr. Mark for his permission to put it out on this platform and he agreed, it’s a message that should be considered by those in a position of influence in Ireland.

There’s a reason you’re quick to mention “last 10 years” because Chelsea wouldn’t be in a position to sell those players if they didn’t have a billionaire from Russia who pumped millions of his own money to the club followed by owners who sold their assets to themselves to survive PSR despite player sales but go on Mr. “High IQ”.

The difference between Liverpool’s spending and that of clubs like Chelsea and Manchester City lies in their financial model. Liverpool is spending what it has earned through successful management over the years. It’s not money from a sugar daddy owner or owners selling their assets to themselves or some oil money. Sit this one out.
