An individual error cost us… yet again, as it has so many times, why have your arm up like it was in that situation… Was always gonna be difficult tonight, so take that back to B6. But, I’m expecting the same leniency from the ref to the home team next week 👍

Lovely skill from Elliot Anderson, nutmegging Morgan Rogers. Anderson then very fortunate to escape punishment for a dangerous challenge on Ollie Watkins. Somehow cleared on review. England team-mates and all. #NFOAVL #ENG

Such a poor performance. Passive, pedestrian. Rogers, Watkins and Abraham should have all done better with their chances but the overall performance was woeful. Could have gone into 3rd today, yet the reality is we’ll probably be in 5th later. #AVFC #UTV

@GarySmithJnr They don’t care that our attendance was still higher than theirs, even with a section of our stand closed. Doesn’t suit their agenda unfortunately, just like that they never mention that the number of names they’ve had outweighs their trophies won Imagine that eh

Absolutely delighted with the result… but it should never have been as dramatic as it was In complete control 3-1 up, then 3-3 within minutes due to mistakes, Sunderland offered nothing before that, then had a chance to win it We kept going but we make it hard work #UTV

@OverscoreW0lf @RubyQNUFC @SWPalace It was 17 points, no need to take the p*ss and miss that 1 point. That 1 point you missed out I think we got against Newcastle at Villa Park, that confirmed your relegation (for the 2nd time at VP)

@RubyQNUFC @SWPalace Went down on 16 points but according to some Villa fans they've never gave up on a season like Newcastle have this season

@1874and1982 Also, they had 0 shots on target in the 2nd half. As we did in the 1st half, and their player scored for us. But let’s be honest, XG is bollocks

@Trentvilla1 Didn’t think that, valid what you said. He should score more than he does, proper frustrating. Was very good on Thursday, goals and all round play. Tammy needs more time in games, when a different option / approach is needed. Love UE, but can be questioned #UTV

Game prep disrupted in the warm up… In control at 1-0 and then lost the ball how many times in the build up to the equaliser? Goal totally avoidable Stats wise dominated the 2nd half, but Rogers has to score that chance Take the point and move on. City win now please #UTV

@X7JBG Spot on. But giving the ball away how we did, in the attacking third for 2 of the goals is inexcusable. Pathetic tbh. How he persists with Bailey is baffling. Buendia gets into some good positions and then loses the ball. Another no show and gifts provided

I didn’t expect us to win there but ffs we got exactly what we deserved today. Negatively set up from the first whistle. Considering we are top 4 you would expect us to have a go. Boring as the day is long and Utd didn’t have to play out of 1st gear to win that… SHITE Villa

It’s not CL though, so doesn’t count Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, City… £££ Newcastle need a season with no Europe to get Europe Forest and Palace playing lesser opposition at home first… both fail to win Lille away. Injuries in midfield. Job done
george@StokeyyG2

Aston Villa were the ONLY Premier League club to win their 1st leg in the European knockouts this week… Liverpool, Tottenham, Newcastle, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City, Forest and Palace all failed to do so.
