@joewalk11929990 @DividendDrip I graduated in Chemistry 2003 I dont earn much more. Unless you want he hassel of management, you only get paid what the companies get back from the government. I work in Oxford and a graduate chmist will start on £23000. Some industries just pay crap.

£30,000 a year sounds good but here's the reality: Monthly before anything comes off: £2,500. Then reality hits: Tax: £286 National Insurance: £198 Student loan: £20 Pension contribution: £100 What actually lands in your account: about £1,896. Now the fixed costs: Mortgage: £1,200 (and this is being kind!) Council tax, utilities, internet: £420 Getting to work (train or fuel): £250 That’s roughly £1,870 gone before you’ve even eaten. You’re left with about £26 for the entire month to cover food, clothes, going out, emergencies… how is this sustainable? Something really needs to change.

@LukeSimpleDiv @DividendDrip My council tax for a 2 bed house in bucks is £211, gas and electric £125, water £50, Internet £35 (cant shop around as have to use providers on the open fibre netork), mobile £17. It soon adds up.

@ClarksonsFarm1 I have the best milk man from a local dairy, yes I ppay a few pence more but I know every penny is going to him. So worth it.

Council tax bill just arrived, I live in a 2 bed semi-detached, and its increased 5.6% to £2235.006. So its nearly doubled since we moved in.

@S_Oberle I constantly walked the room, talked to students and gauge how they were doing not just in my lesson but in themselves to. However the grammar school didn't like that approach one bit.

@SearsonEmma Did you talk to the students or sit in the back of the room and do nothing until you were told?

If you work with teacher candidates, student teachers, whatever we are calling them these days…tell them they need to take initiative in the classroom and not just do the bare minimum. We are seeing a terrible lack of ambition and work ethic in these future teachers.

Good morning Twitter!! Now that the weekend is out of the way, today is my first day of retirement!!!! To celebrate, it's a glorious day in Bristol!! The usual rules apply!!!

Sent the trial horse back 15 Dec 2025 and im still fighting to get my money back that Im owed. The worst part is that was from my redundancy and so I've been robbed of owning another horse. Coming up to 1 year without Mr Rufus and I miss him more than ever.

@Jenny_1884 It depends on the course and what they want to do, but I do think they should be told about all options and routes available to achieve what they want, allow a truly informed decision.

Who else agrees that Kids of today should ditch Universities & just get out there & get a job rather than saddle themselves with debts that will take them years to pay off?
