That's North Walney!!!!

Shellfish farming is very sustainable. Nothing is added they filter their food from the sea. The water is cleaned too and it’s low on CO2. The beds provide shelter and shade for other creatures. We don’t shout about it enough and are often overlooked because it’s also a business.

All of our oysters start out at 2 hatcheries Morcambe and Guernsey. Kelsey @SeasalterWalney sent me some pictures that show this early stage. We take them at any size from 7mm to 16mm.

Our native oyster restoration team had a delivery of 50,000 flat oysters from @SeasalterWalney yesterday! 🦪 Before placing in the Humber at Spurn, the team undertook biosecurity checks, before the oysters are quarantined to ensure no non-native invasive species are transferred💙

Some good news at last for the #Welsh #aquaculture industry – @lesley4wrexham has agreed to make a new Fishery Order that will both protect the future for #shellfish farmers and will also have a new boundary to leave space for yacht moorings.
