The Greek Cypriots left themselves out in the cold when they shot down the Annan Plan and the Cyprus issue became unresolvable after it was shelved during their EU accession process.
Now they are trying to present the Cyprus issue as an EU problem. If it was an EU problem it would and should have been addressed in 2004/2005. The EU accepted Cyprus as a divided island and until Greek Cypriots get off their maximalist high horse and reach a deal with their Turkish Cypriot neighbors, a divided island it will remain.

@cornu__copia No, @cornu__copia the Eastern Med (Greece etc.) is NOT the area with the most high density urbanism in Western Eurasia. Interestingly, it's Spain. Of the 100 densest 1 km² squares in Europe, 59 are in Spain. Greece (mostly Athens) only has 9 of the top 100 and Italy has 8.
