Secret Santa (Aotearoa NZ)

I have some very sad news. Due to changes made to Twitter by Elon Musk we've had to make the very hard choice that we can not run #SecretSantaNZ anymore. It's a heart breaking decision because we thought we'd future proofed with the App etc, but we will always have the memories.

Shoutout to @SecretSantaNZ on this day, as today I got my memories reminder that this time last year I got one of the coolest Secret Santa gifts ever. Pretty shithouse we can't do that again... 😔 Bah humbug, Elon. Bah humbug...

@RenamedPM The IT side of it is handled by the IT Elves, there would be a cost factor now and also automated DMs and messages has had big changes. I don't understand all this detail but I know if Ed tells me we can't do it we can't.

@SecretSantaNZ Which changes specifically are preventing it from running? While it's not something I personally participate in, I see so many people get so much joy from this; it seems a real shame to lose. If you can clarify the issues, perhaps we can all brainstorm a way to work around them.
