My 2 cents view on Permissionless Prediction Markets Are they good? - I don't want to talk about this But they bring volume because of participation of the users at scale. We have an example of Traditional Media vs User-generated content platforms like Instagram, YouTube, etc. Permissioned Prediction Markets like Polymarket, Kalshi, Opinion Labs, Predict fun, Forecast Ex, etc. Only Polymarket, Kalshi did over $37B trading volume in 2025 and December 2025 had the highest. But look at the fact, these platforms have their in-house teams which create markets they want the traders to trade. Then what about the markets you and me really care about? What if I want to trade a Prediction Market based on a crypto project with just 10,000 users? No, they won't create those markets, so the expansion for Prediction Markets would be limited to Permissioned markets. What if Permissionless markets go mainstream? - Anyone and everyone could create their cultural markets - instant market creation - diversity of the markets will be available - the trading volume would sky-rocket What might go wrong? - criminal markets can be created - criminals might set bounties and traders might trade - thin liquidity across the markets - resolutions might be ambiguous - traders might get rugged by the platforms I tried to be very much at the centre. We need both of them. What do you think?
