Yeah I want aware of the std based on windowsAPI part but everything else I understand. I especially don’t like the move from GitHub. I understand the moral reason but practically it wasn’t a smart move before 1.0 I’ll continue to build with it as my main language regardless rn. My classes focus on C++ so at least I’ll hav thy as backup even though I’m not a big fan.

Honestly for my it was the unnecessary breaking changes, especially in the build system. If it wasn't that, I'd probably be all in. Some changes are good and better for the language, but more than half seemed very arbitrary "naming" autism. Then they had a bunch of IMO idiotic design decisions, such as basing their std on Windows internal APIs (and causing people's code to fail on Windows as a result, and not fixing the root cause), not making unused vars a warning (even with a compiler switch), moving off of github while everyone's still there, extreme hardcore stance against AI etc. FInally their community outreach has a lot to improve upon IMO. Sad because at the core, it's a beautiful language.

Zig is amazing and my favorite language but I’m afraid of digging deeper and becoming extremely knowledgeable in it as it won’t lead to jobs. On the other hand deep knowledge of a subject regardless of language is still important and valuable.

What do you think killed it in your opinion?? I feel like it still has high technical opportunities and ROI but it’ll take longer for it’s social impact as its stances will cause distaste in many developer. I think with the help of tigerbeetle it can grow significantly. People just have to keep building with it and showing its value.

@SegFaultMaster It had so much potential, but I think it's mostly a dead-man-walking situation for Zig right now. I sadly would recommend spending your brain cycles elsewhere.

I've never seen a chudded out teen/young adult spree shooter play video games like Doom, Postal, Manhunt, Mortal Kombat, shit like that. It's almost always anime games, map painter games, dumb meme shit, Nintendo and autistic milsims.

Black Africans in general have a habit of doing this. You can say something obvious as "the vast majority of continental Africans are brownskin to darkskin with broad noses, full lips, & 4C hair", and you will have Africans argue you down & insist that we can look mixed-race as well. Why do we never celebrate what the majority of us look like, why do we never brag about our black & brown-colored eyes, why do we never brag about our kinky 4C hair, why do we never celebrate our dark melanated skin? While Twitter was out here bothering everybody in the past 12 hours, I noticed this phenomenon in the South Asian & Arab community too, those people seem really eager to prove how 'white' or Eurocentric their group can look, they love highlighting members with green or blue eyes like it's the norm, but they never brag about their tan, brown, or dark skin. You rarely see them showing off their black or brown-colored eyes (which the vast majority of South Asians & Arabs have) or their own ethnic features. So this isn't just a black thing, non-black POC suffer from this as well, it's honestly sad because there's nothing wrong with looking non-white 💔. I want black Africans to know that there's nothing wrong with looking black or being black. We have so much unpacking to do around why we feel the constant need to justify our blackness.
