It’s not like Trevor Ncube didn’t know that ZANU PF can’t be trusted and cannot be appeased.
I remember very well when he was taunting Nelson Chamisa for “his failure” to jailbreak Job Sikhala, who was unfairly incarcerated without trial. Even Hopewell joined in, blaming the opposition for not doing enough, either to negotiate or to make some sort of compromise for the sake of Wiwa’s freedom.
Where are Trevor and Hopewell now? As journalists, they must lead us. No excuses. Itai Dzamara, a journalist, led protests. Evan Mawarire, a pastor, led a whole movement.

🔸Good day @nickmangwana,
1. What sort of Africa Education Summit was this where the host uses their vernacular language? Who were the delegates? What language do they speak?
2. What was the theme of the Summit? What message is being communicated here? How is this relevant to education in Africa?
3. Is @dhonzamusoro007 still Mr Mnangagwa’s speech writer?
We need new leaders.🇿🇼

When we say that the president is clueless and incompetent, this is what we will be referring to.
In February 2020, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) barred Zimbabwe from hosting international football matches due to the substandard conditions of its main stadiums.
An inspection conducted in November 2019 revealed that all of Zimbabwe’s stadiums failed to meet the required standards.
The president was asked yesterday about this sad reality, and he did not even know that his national team has been playing home games in other countries like South Africa and Rwanda.
It is so embarrassing, as this has been happening for over six years, but the CEO of the country doesn’t know about this!
This is the man who wants a third term—to do what, really, other than looting public funds?
The sports minister who presided over this embarrassment was yesterday elected to lead the International Olympic Committee, good riddance some Zimbabweans are saying, but spare a thought for the world sports!

🔸One is never short of things to discuss and debate with His Excellency, President Thabo Mbeki. All I can say is that we want our African Renaissance. We want the African Dream where the continent works for everyone. We are the generation that won’t rest until the Dream is realized.
I can do no better than quote his stirring 1996 speech, “I am an African” which should be required reading in every school:
“I am an African…I have seen what happens when one person has superiority of force over another, when the stronger appropriate to themselves the prerogative even to annul the injunction that God created all men and women in His image.”🇿🇦🇿🇼

It was a somber mood this afternoon here at Magistrates Court as journalist @bbmhlanga was denied bail on outrageous grounds that he will interfere with state witnesses who are purportedly his juniors & is likely to commit a similar offense.
Journalism is no crime!
