When we say that the president is clueless and incompetent, this is what we will be referring to. In February 2020, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) barred Zimbabwe from hosting international football matches due to the substandard conditions of its main stadiums. An inspection conducted in November 2019 revealed that all of Zimbabwe’s stadiums failed to meet the required standards. The president was asked yesterday about this sad reality, and he did not even know that his national team has been playing home games in other countries like South Africa and Rwanda. It is so embarrassing, as this has been happening for over six years, but the CEO of the country doesn’t know about this! This is the man who wants a third term—to do what, really, other than looting public funds? The sports minister who presided over this embarrassment was yesterday elected to lead the International Olympic Committee, good riddance some Zimbabweans are saying, but spare a thought for the world sports!
