@Selerenca youre being obstuse, its a stylistic choice by raimi. this is not a normal "nerd" portrayal. hell peter didnt even act like this in the 60's. tobey is basically portraying a different character. an idealized version of peter's heroic side.

Normies really expect a character explicitly portrayed as a "nerd" to conform to their idea of the "average person." They literally have no concept outside of this; seeing anything else breaks their brains.
