tbh I think the real answer is that you shouldn’t only value one sole aspect of a game. Deltarune’s gameplay is probably my favorite part of it but I was only able to get to that point because the story and characters got me invested enough to keep playing and replaying

"Chapters 3&4 broke a lot of the patterns we expected from chapter 2"
"Anyways Ralsei will have a solo secret boss fight in chapter 5 because of the pattern set up from 3&4"
