Katić has been dominant in his defensive duties. He wins nearly every duel, whether in the air or on the ground, showing exceptional strength, timing, and positioning. His physical presence, composure under pressure, and consistency make him a crucial and reliable backbone of the defense. On top of that, his experience plays a key role in supporting Muharemović, helping organize and stabilize the back line. Against Italy, he was even rated by several sources as our best player, which speaks volumes about his influence on the game. While he may not be the most technically refined player on the ball, his true strengths lie in the core defensive skills: tackling, duels, and handling the gritty, demanding side of football. In those areas, he is unmatched in the team. And that balance is essential. Alongside a ball-playing defender like Muharemović, you need a warrior like Katić who thrives in the physical battles.
