My bill banning pet ownership for five years following an individual’s animal abuse conviction & another requiring courts consider a pet’s wellbeing during divorce proceedings unfortunately did not make it into this legislation – but I am committed advocating for these policies.

Yesterday’s unanimous, bipartisan vote to pass the PETS Act is a testament to the Senate’s commitment to protecting animals here in the Commonwealth. Each policy included in this bill are important steps toward improving life both for Bay Staters and our furry friends.

So many friends (human and not) came to the State House today for Senate debate on the PETS Act! Proud to have so many advocates by my side fighting to combat animal cruelty and foster responsible pet ownership.

Despite all the snow, Central Massachusetts was just declared to be in a level 3 "critical" drought. Outdoor water use is banned in Worcester, and similar bans will likely be coming for surrounding communities. Please do your part to conserve! masslive.com/centralmass/20…

Auburn's place in the story of how humans began to explore the cosmos was cemented by Dr. Goddard's ambition. His innovative spirit lives on here in Central Massachusetts through the generations he inspired – I can't wait to see what big scientific breakthrough comes next.

March 16th, 1926 marks the day Dr. Robert Goddard launched the very first liquid fueled rocket right here in Auburn, paving the way for modern spaceflight. 100 years later, Auburn celebrated his achievement and rededicated a playground commemorating this step forward!

We talked about the challenges faced by our neighbors with physical and mental disabilities at last Friday's Legislative Breakfast, held by the members of the Central Regional Citizens Advisory Board for the Department of Developmental Services.

Thank you to the Governor. Here in MA, we follow the law and protect our peoples’ rights to protest, demand due process, and to be free from unlawful search & seizure. With the creation of this portal, agents acting outside of their lawful duties will be brought to justice.

Their overly aggressive tactics toward law-abiding citizens only underscores the need for a way for everyday people to submit evidence & eyewitness accounts to the state when they believe an individuals’ rights are being violated so that any allegations can be fully investigated.

Today, the Governor announced that her administration would be creating a tip line where Bay Staters can report misconduct by ICE & Border Patrol. This is exactly what 22 of my colleagues and I asked her to do in a January letter following the distressing scenes we saw in MN.
