Indiana remains just one of 13 states without any form of legal cannabis. Tomorrow, we start a golden opportunity to change that with the first Interim Study Committee on Cannabis. I will be fighting for us to join those other 37 states with modernized cannabis laws.

Over the past few days, I’ve been so grateful for the opportunity to talk with students at Bailly and Liberty Elementary Schools about our state government! We went over how a bill becomes a law, the three branches of government and the value of collaboration in the Statehouse.

This task force has been amazing for the Indianapolis area, and I’m looking forward to seeing those same results Porter and LaPorte counties. #INForAll

This is unacceptable. I am calling for real change. Indiana State Prison in Michigan City should be permanently closed. The state has invested billions in a brand new facility in nearby Westville with the intention of closing the prison permanently. That promise must be honored.

Families are forced to make tough choices every day, & unexpected spikes like these only make things worse. In addition to ongoing review by the IURC, we are calling on the AG to take a closer look to ensure consumers are fully protected from any potentially deceptive practices.

Hoosiers deserve fair, accurate and affordable utility bills. I joined lawmakers from across the region in sending a letter to the Indiana Attorney General’s Office requesting an investigation into ongoing billing issues with NIPSCO.
